Agartala:
Tripura on Friday declared four days holiday for the primary class students of 6640 schools as the mercury dipped 3.3 degrees Celsius on Thursday, official sources said.
"It is difficult for the primary schools students to go to the schools in the morning as the cold is bone chilling. Today the mercury dipped to 4.5 degrees Celsius and yesterday it was 3.3 degrees Celsius, a record in last 40 years. So the government declared four day holiday from tomorrow," the Secretary of the Higher Education department, Banamali Sinha said.
To a question, he said if the cold wave continued the government might think of extending the holidays.
