Yamunanagar, Haryana: A 12-year-old boy was allegedly killed by his three teenage friends during a quarrel over distribution of money, police said on Tuesday.
The body of Rakesh was found on Sunday and the main accused behind the killing, a 15-year-old boy, has been arrested while two other boys are at large, they said.
During investigations, it came to light that the four boys, aged between 12-15 years, had stolen a bicycle and sold it off. A quarrel ensued when money was to be divided among them, they said.
Rakesh's hands and legs were tied and he was hit with bricks resulting in his death.
Rakesh's relatives blocked the KhajuriJathlana road for over an hour on Tuesday to protest the murder.
The mob also set houses of the three culprits on fire.
Police said that they had received a complaint on March 18 from Rakesh's father that his son had gone missing.
The post-mortem of the body was to be conducted at Rohtak, the police added.
