Two arrested for raping a minor girl

Jabalpur: Two youth were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly kidnapping and raping a minor girl, police said.

The arrests came after father of the victim approached the Superintendent of Police (SP), Jabalpur, Santosh Kumar Singh complaining that Patan police station has not registered an FIR despite his repeated pleas in the month old incident.

The complainant alleged that his daughter was kidnapped about a month back by the accused, identified as Rafiq and Danish, who allegedly drugged the girl and raped her for over a month.

The girl managed to escape from their captivity and reached her home to narrate the incident following which her father approached the police to register an FIR but in vain.

Taking the issue seriously, senior police officials have directed Patan police to register a complaint immediately.

Singh also directed Additional SP, T K Vidyarthi to probe why the complaint was not registered by the concerned police station.

After getting report in this regard action would be taken against those responsible for not registering the report in this regard, he added.
