New Tehri, Uttarakhand:
A heavy machine operator and his helper were killed in a landslide on the Rishikesh-Chamba-Gangotri national highway in Uttarakhand , police said today.
The deceased were identified as Ajay Kumar, 25, and Aman, 24, both residents of Vaishali district of Bihar.
The landslide occurred on Wednesday evening during the construction of an all-weather road with the debris falling from the hillside burying both of them alive, Chamba SHO Sundaram Sharma said.
Their bodies were pulled out of the rubble after three-hour of struggle, he said.
