Two held for cheating students of lakhs of rupees

Coimbatore: Two persons were arrested on charges of cheating students of lakhs of rupees on the promise of getting seats in professional colleges, police said on Saturday.
  
The students had complained that they have been cheated to the tune of Rs five lakh and Rs 18.5 lakh respectively by Sivaprakasam and Rajesh who had promised to get them seats in medical colleges last year, police said.
  
They were arrested on Friday night.
  
Sivaprakasam, working as a professor in a private engineering college in Hosur, was allegedly the mastermind behind this fraud, police said.
