Shimla:
Two women were killed and 25 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a tanker near Barmana on Bilaspur-Mandi National highway on Tuesday, police said.
The bus carrying about 30 passengers rolled down into a 150-ft gorge after the collision near Barmana, 20-km from Bilaspur district headquarter, they said.
The deceased have been identified as Sunita Devi and Kusma Devi, both residents of Sundernagar.
The injured were rushed to district hospital, from where three critically wounded passengers Amna Devi, Sunita and Madhu were referred to PGI, Chandigarh, police said.
The district administration gave immediate financial relief of Rs 10,000 to next of kin of the deceased and Rs 5,000 to the seriously injured.
