Madurai: A passenger and the conductor were killed and eight others injured when a state-owned transport corporation bus collided with a stationary lorry at Pallapatti near Madurai on the national highway on Friday, police said.
Police said the bus conductor Murugesan and an unidentified passenger died on the spot. The injured had been rushed to a hospital.
In another accident in the same area, a man died on the spot after being hit by a sand-ladden lorry while crossing the road, police added.
