Purulia, West Bengal:
Two persons - a woman and her teenage daughter of a Banjara family were killed. The man was critically injured during an exchange of fire at Arsha in Purulia district of West Bengal on Tuesday.
Purulia superintendent of police Nilkanta Sudhir Kumar said the exchange of fire took place between two groups of Banjaras in the early hours of Tuesday morning at Mihirdih village.
The attackers fled the scene after the woman and the girl fell to their bullets, he said. Nobody has been arrested as yet.
An FIR was filed against six accused and the injured man was rushed to the hospital in neighbouring Bankura, he added.
The Banjaras travel in groups and include entire families moving with all their possessions.
