Lucknow: Two people were killed and five injured on Monday in an explosion at a fireworks factory in Uttar Pradesh's Chhibramau town of Kannauj district, around 125 km from here, police said.
According to police, the impact of the blast was such that the factory owner's son and a worker were blown into pieces and one of the rooms collapsed, crushing five people.
All the injured have been pulled out of the rubble, but the condition of one of them is stated to be serious, Kannauj Superintendent of Police VK Singh said.
The two killed people have been identified as Sanju and Raju Kamal. The fireworks unit is under a licence from the state government, police said.
