Balasore, Orissa: Two persons were lynchedby a mob after the discovery of a minor girl's body under the suspicion that theyhad raped and killed her at Salabani in Orissa's Balasore district, policesaid.
The two, identifiedas Maheswar Bera and Ratikanta Bera, had reportedly taken out their minorcousin to witness burning of 'Ravana' on the occasion of Dussehra at nearby Rasgovindpurin Mayurbhanj district on Sunday night, police said.
As the lifeless bodyof the girl was spotted over a night-long search from a nearby jungle the nextday, villagers cornered the duo, blamed them of raping and killing the unsuspectinggirl and began thrashing them.
The two soon died onthe spot.
All the three bodieshad been sent for post-mortem.
