Kannur: Two hardcore criminals escaped from the Central jail by breaking open the window grills

Jayanand, a native of Thrissur and involved in several criminal cases including murders, and Riyas, a resident of Kasaragod and convicted in 35 burglary cases, escaped from the jail's 10th block. It was recently put under Closed Circuit TV system as part of closer surveillance of inmates, they said.
The duo jumped the high prison boundary walls and made good their escape.
