Undertrial prisoners on Tuesday staged a hunger strike in Mathura jail but called it off soon after authorities promised them proper treatment.
Undertrials staged the protest alleging special treatment to some of the prisoners and even refused to go to respective courts today for trial.
However, on persuasion by authorities, they withdrew their strike.
"Jail authorities have been instructed to ensure uniform treatment to the undertrials," DIG Jails Kedarnath said.
