Mumbai:
A student from Thane school was stabbed by three classmates on Wednesday. While the pupil was hospitalised, police are looking for his assailants.
The incident took place near New English School on Ram Maruti Road. Nikhil Shinde, 15, is a student of class X of the same school. "On Wednesday afternoon, when Nikhil was returning from the school, three classmates stabbed him with a piece of glass. They slashed him on his stomach, chest, back and arm with the intention of seriously injuring him," alleged Pravin.
The three boys (names withheld) have a notorious reputation in the school. Pravin alleged that the boys extorted money from other students illegally.
Nikhil had apprised his teachers about their activities, which may be the motive for their assault. "We have submitted the piece of glass and blood-stained clothes to police as evidence," Pravin said.
Meanwhile, Nikhil was admitted to the Thane civil hospital.
