Gadchiroli, Maharashtra:
Vice President of steel-maker Lloyd Metals Jaspal Singh Dhillon (60) and two others were killed by the Naxals on Wednesday evening in Etapalli tehsil of Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, police said.
The other two victims were identified as Mallikarjun Reddy from Hemlata Minerals, a subsidiary of Lloyd Metals, and village police official (Police Patil) Raju Sadaphad from Surjagad.
The company had been allotted a mining block in the area, and the three had gone to Mange village to "hold negotiations" with Naxals who were opposed to mining in the area, according to the police.
At around 9 pm on Wednesday all three were allegedly gunned down by the outlaws near Surjagad village.
The district, which borders Chhattisgarh, has a significant Naxal presence.
