Viveka was not depressed: Family

New Delhi: Two days after Gautam Vora flatly denied being involved with Viveka Babajee, a strong rebuttal from the model's family, who claim they were planning to get married. (Read: Viveka Babajee's death -- suicide or homicide?)

"Gautam was going around with her. She had mentioned him to her mother. They had even discussed marriage. Gautam had even matched their kundalies," said Dale Bhagwagar, Babajee's family representative.

Viveka was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her flat in the posh Mumbai suburb of Bandra last week. A mobile phone, a laptop, a diary and a few letters addressed to Gautam Vora were among the things recovered from her residence. The last entry in a diary recovered by the police read, "I Kill".  (Read: The dark side of glamour industry)

When Vora, scion of one of Mumbai's oldest stock broking families, had applied for anticipatory bail he had claimed he was only helping a friend overcome depression. Even this her family denies.

"This depression theory is all rubbish. She was not depressed at all," said Bhagwagar.

Statements which could make this seemingly open and shut suicide case a little more complicated.

In fact, the family now says they may consider legal action against Vora.

"We just finished the last rites and are waiting for the police investigation to end. We might consider legal action after that," said Babajee's family representative Bhagwagar.

Initially the police were not keen on pursuing an abatement charge against Vora, especially since the family had earlier revealed that she had attempted suicide before, but if the family decides to press charges the case could turn against Vora.
