Mumbai: The Vice President of Mobile service provider Vodafone today allegedly committed suicide at his residence in suburban Santacruz, police said.
Chandramouli Iyer (47), Vice President of Vodafone was found hanging from the ceiling with a rope around his neck at his residence in Trimurti Society building in Santacruz, Senior Police Inspector Madhukar Choudhari at Santacruz police station said.
Iyer, who stayed alone in Mumbai, was found hanging by one of his friends who had come to his house this afternoon, Choudhari said.
The body was taken to a nearby hospital for post mortem, Choudhari said, adding the reason for the suicide was not known.
Further investigations were on, he said.
