Canning:
A woman was threatened with a gun and raped at her home in West Bengal's South 24 Paragans district, police said today.
The 30-year-old woman was raped by a history-sheeter who took advantage of her husband's absence and threatened her with a gun before committing the crime at her home at Amtala village.
Police said the man first threatened the woman's teenaged nephew, who was sleeping on the verandah outside, before forcing his way into her room and raping her.
Her husband, a daily wage earner, was away for work.
Angry villagers blockaded the road at the marketplace today and the police arrested the man after the victim filed an FIR.
However, the gun is yet to be found, the police said.
A medical examination was conducted on the woman.
