Faridabad: A 26-year-old married woman was allgedly tortured by her in-laws for dowry and raped multiple times by her brother-in-law in Faridabad, police said.
According to the complaint filed by the woman, she married a resident of old Faridabad in February 2010.
Post marriage she was allegedly harassed physically as well as mentally for dowry by her husband, his mother, his father, and his two cousins, the complaint said.
One of the cousins of her husband even allegedly raped her several times during this period, it said.
She was also allegedly threatened of being thrown out of house and also of her life if she reports the matter to the police, it added.
The complainant, a mother of two, was allegedly threatened for the life of her children too by the accused, it said.
A case was registered yesterday with Women Police Station Faridabad under IPC sections 498A, 376, 406, 506 and 120B.
None of the accused have been arrested till late evening, confirmed the investigating officer ASI Sheela. However, the police have started investigations in the case, said the officer.
