A woman was on Tuesday arrested for allegedly murdering her mother-in-law in Tankri village here, police said.
According to police, 28-year-old Neha Agarwal allegedly thrashed her mother-in-law Manju Devi (63) with a club and branded her private parts with a pair of hot tongs on May 11 during an altercation.
Devi was rushed to a local hospital from where she was shifted to Delhi-based Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on May 15 after her condition worsened. She succumbed to injuries on Monday night, they said.
Neha's husband is a medicine supplier and the couple has a 5-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son, police said.
