Bokaro (Jharkhand):
A woman was killed after being branded a 'witch' by her relative in Bokaro's Chandrapura area, the second such incident in Jharkhand this month.
Qureshi Khatun was at home on Wednesday when her relative, Mohammad Shakeel, came with a sharp edged weapon and slit her throat as he blamed her for the death of his child, Chandrapura police station in-charge Ramji Mahato said here.
Shakeel was arrested immediately after the crime, he added.
The police officer said Shakeel alleged that Khatun practiced witchcraft, which was responsible for his child's death.
This is the second such incident in Jharkhand this month. On March 9, a woman was killed in Simdega after being branded a witch.
