Jalna:
A woman committed suicide with her three children by jumping into a well alleging torture from husband and in-laws on Saturday, police said.
Smita Gaikwad (30) along with her daughters Komal (12), Nikita (10) and son Jay (8) jumped into a well at Bethlam village in Maharashtra's Jalna district, they said.
Their bodies were spotted by villagers late in the afternoon, they said.
Police found a suicide note in a plastic pouch, purportedly written by Smita, with the bodies in which she said her husband Ravi, father-in-law Dadarao Gaikwad and mother-in-law Yanu Gaikwad were responsible for this extreme step, they said.
Smita said in the note that they used to torture her physically and mentally, police said.
Police have registered a case of suicide.
