After being allegedly refused treatment in a government hospital, a woman delivered a baby in a stationary truck cabin at Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur district.
The incident took place in the wee hours of Friday outside the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Danagadi, the lone government hospital in the industrial complex, the woman's husband Ajit Kumar Mohanta claimed.
Bhanumati Mohanta (21) of Sainkula village under Tomka police station developed labour pain on Thursday night. She was brought to the hospital in a truck but the hospital allegedly refused to admit her, Ajit said.
Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO), Jajpur, Deepak Kumar Prusty said he was not aware of any such incident. "I will inquire into the incident and take appropriate action against the erring staff," he said.
