Bhind, Madhya Pradesh: A woman was killed by dacoits at Lahar town near here and looted Rs five lakh in cash and jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh, police said.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night when unidentified dacoits entered the house of Rajkumari, 55, who was living alone in Lohia Chowk area and killed her by attacking her with a sharp-edged weapon, police said on Thursday.
Later, they decamped with Rs five lakh in cash and gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 15 lakh, police said.
Protesting against the murder and loot, the local traders observed a day-long bandh demanding immediate arrest of those responsible for it.
A case has been registered in this regard and further probe is on.
