Woman kills children, self in Jharkhand

Jharkhand: A woman killed her three minor children by throwing them into a well before taking her own life by jumping in at Lalmatia village in Bokaro district, police sources said.

28-year-old Kalawati Devi took 7-year-old Kajal, 6-year-old Payal and 2-year-old Amar to the well and dropped them one by one before jumping in, officer-in-charge of Chandrapura police station, Ramji Mahato, told newsmen.

Further, the officer said that Kalawati's labourer husband was not present at the time.

A family dispute could be behind the tragedy.
