New Delhi:
A 22-year-old woman, working with a renowned software company in Gurgaon, was found dead in her south Delhi home on June 10 with injury marks on her body, three days before she was to get married.
Monica Jaiswal, who belonged to Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, was found dead in her rented flat in Madangir area around 7.20 am on June 10.
Her parents, who live in Kanpur, came to Delhi after finding no response to their calls on Monica's mobile phone.
"They found her house locked and broke open the door. Monica was found lying dead on the bed and her body bore several injury marks. We have sent her body for autopsy," said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) S.K. Jain.
Jain said the cause of death would be ascertained after the post-mortem report. Monica had been staying in Madangir for the past one-and-a-half years.
Her fiancé Ravi Mishra and friends are being interrogated. Friends told police she was supposed marry Mishra on June 14.
"I was trying her number but there was no response. We reached Delhi and found her door locked. Her head and other body parts had several injury marks," said Ravinder Jaiswal, Monica's father.
