Thane:
A young woman was found murdered in the second-class compartment of a suburban train here, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place on Friday night, when the patrol staff of the Railway Protection Force on duty found the body of the woman in the rake, parked at the Kalwa car shed.
The body with deep stab wounds was found lying in the compartment shortly before midnight, they said, adding it was not yet known when she was killed.
The victim, in her 20s, could not be immediately identified and police is awaiting the post-mortem report.
The railway police have registered a case of murder and have launched a hunt for the killer.
