Moga, Punjab:
A 19-year-old youth was beaten to death at Dhurkot village by his beloved's family for allegedly meeting her, police said today.
The incident took place last night when Kuldeep Singh of Gill village near Baghapurana in the district went to the girl's house, along with his cousin Iqbal Singh, who was keeping guard outside.
The couple met, assuming there was nobody in the house, but the girl's parents, who had suspicions about their meetings informed some of the family members, who were hiding
in one portion of the house, they said.
Police said as soon as Kuldeep entered the house, he was caught by the girl's family, who started beating him with lathis.
Later, his parents were informed about the incident, who arrived and shifted Singh to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police has registered a murder case against six persons, including four members of the girl's family, and two unidentified persons.
The accused had fled from the spot after beating the boy to death, police added.
