New Delhi:
Bollywood composer and singer Anand Raj Anand on Monday unveiled his new music album which comprises a collection of songs celebrating the spirit of the Commonwealth Games to be held here from October 3-14.
The collection -- A common man's tribute to the Commonwealth Games -- consists of two songs 'Yeh Fasle' and 'Come Out and Play', welcoming the athletes and delegates from across the world to become part of the grand celebration.
The fun-filled launch of the album, held at a five-star hotel here, was attended by Randhir Singh, vice-chairman of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee, Rajeev Shukla, Member of Parliament and Raj Kumar Chauhan, Minister for PWD, Development and Revenue, Delhi Government.
The invitation song 'Yeh Fasle' asks the world to come and live the experience called Incredible India. The track encourages everyone to forget colour, caste and creed and rise through global unity.
The second song is a welcome song. It reflects the spirit of 'Come Out and Play', which is the theme of Delhi 2010. A musical mix of Indian folk and rock, it depicts the sounds of celebration of being together.
"From my experience, I have seen that any event in India is brought closer to people's hearts through music," said Anand Raj.
"I am a musician and I was inspired to come out with these two songs, which are to ask people from all over the world to come and participate in the Commonwealth Games. And when they are here, we will ask them to come out and play.
"It is basically an appeal to the world from the common man of India to come and make the Games a success," the musician said.
"I am working on two more songs, one on the Commonwealth Games mascot Shera and the other is Vande Mataram, a tribute to our nation. After that, we will come out with a video CD of the collection in association with Times Music," said Anand Raj.
Anand Raj has made a career of distinction in the Bollywood film industry as a music director, lyricist, composer and singer in a career spanning 15 years.
A native of Delhi, he has written, composed and sung both songs. He would also be performing the two songs at the Opening Ceremony at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 3.
