New Delhi: To woo visitors during the Commonwealth Games (CWG), the Central Cottage Industries Emporium has set up a retail outlet showcasing handicrafts and handlooms products in the international zone of the Games Village.
"The athletes and visitors have an opportunity to see and carry gifts and souvenirs in the form of handy and attractive Indian handicraft or handloom items," Central Cottage Industries Emporium (CCIE) said in a statement.
A wide range of handicraft items made up of wood, brass, metal, marble and ceramics are on display, it said.
Besides, exquisitely embroidered and printed handloom articles such as shawls, stoles and garments for both men and women are also being showcased.
Alongside the sales outlet, live craft demonstration for metal ware, wood craft, hand embroidery on shawls by master craftsmen has also been arranged.
CCIE, which is a government undertaking, has emporium in five cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and franchise showrooms at Gurgaon, Patna, Bodhgaya, Rajgir and Copenhagen (Denmark).
