CWG Day 6: India eyes best-ever Games haul, 36 Gold medals at stake
New Delhi: Day 6 and India's attempts to continue at the second position in the medals tally will get a huge challenge from England and Canada as both these countries have reduced their gap with the hosts considerably. (Read: 20 and still counting)

Large number of spectators are expected to pour in at all venues today with plenty of action lined up for the weekend. (Read: CWG: Tickets sold out but spirits still high) India will look to grab more Gold as the sixth day of the Games as 36 medals are up for stake. Some big names including Gagan Narang and Sania Mirza will be competing in the finals. 

Ace shooter Gagan Narang will be the cynosure of all eyes as he will participate in the Singles 50 m Rifle 3 Positions (Men). Imran Hasan will also be seen participating in the same event.

Shooting will have more to offer with Suma Siddharth Shirur and Kavitha Yadav in the Pairs 10m Air Rifle shooting event and Vijay Kumar and Harpreet Singh in the Pairs 25m Pistol (Men). (Read: Indian shooters continue to call shots at Karni range)

After the duo of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupati crashed out in the semi-finals of the men's doubles event, India rests its hope on Sania Mirza as she faces Anastasia Rodionova in the Women's singles final today. (Read: Sania and Somdev cruise into finals)

Both the men's and women's hockey team will continue their race for the Gold today. The men will look to establish a victory against Scotland while the Indian women's hockey team is up against South Africa today after thrashing Trinidad and Tobago 7-0 yesterday. After Kavita Raut's stellar show in the 10, 000 mts, Indian fans will expect more medals from the track and field events which will feature some of the medals hope like Tintu Luka in women's 800 mts and Discus thrower Vikas Gowda (Read: Raut becomes first Indian woman to win individual track medal)

In Wrestling, India will hope to break more records as there are 3 Gold medals are at stake today. India's Yogeshwar Dutt, Narsingh Pancham Yadav and Anil Mann will be seen fighting for Gold in the Freestyle 60kg, Freestyle 74kg, Freestyle 96kg finals (Men's) respectively.

In Weightlifting, Monika Devi and Srishti Singh will be competing in the 75 kg Women's category.
