With the euphoria of a spectacular Opening Ceremony out of the way, it's time to get down to business at the Commonwealth Games. There are eight medals up for grabs on Day 1 of competition.
India features across several arenas with tennis being the busiest.
Action at the RK Khanna Stadium starts with Rohan Bopanna's first round singles match at 10 am. He's also playing the mixed doubles with former India number one Nirupama Sanjeev. But the highlight event of the day is Leander Paes and Sania Mirza in their first round mixed doubles match which will begin at 7 pm.
There are two medals up for grabs in weightlifting and India is expected to get at least one of them in the women's 48 kg category through Soniya Chanu. Sukhen Dey also a contender in the men's 56 kg category.
And the Indian women's hockey team also starts its campaign at 6 pm with its first pool match against Scotland. Amongst others in action, the gymnasts, swimmer and archers who will be going through individual qualification rounds.
