New Delhi:
With less than 24 hours left for the biggest Commonwealth Games to begin, reports claimed that India's Lawn Ball manager Ruptu Gogoi has contracted dengue fever but the Bowls Federation of India said it's not confirmed as yet.
A media report said Gogoi is down with dengue but the President of the Bowls Federation Sunaina Kumari told PTI that Gogoi has been taken to hospital for tests and picture would be clear only by tomorrow.
"We have a team of managers and Gogoi was not feeling well. He was taken to hospital from the Games Village and some tests were done. There are some more tests to be done, only then we could say whether it's dengue or not," Sunaina said.
"Our team managers are working on it. He is being taken to (G B) Panth hospital. Hopefully it's not dengue but even if it is we can't do much," she added.
Several international athletes had pulled out of the Games citing health reasons. Fears were that dengue outbreak in the national capital would engulf the Games also.
Many athletes decided to give a miss to the Games due to security reasons.
