Paes-Bhupathi to participate in Commonwealth Games

Paes-Bhupathi to participate in Commonwealth Games
Chennai: India's doubles pair of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi on Saturday confirmed their participation in the Commonwealth Games to be held in Delhi from October 3-14.

After the duo recorded their 24th consecutive Davis Cup doubles win to keep India afloat in the World Group play-off tie against Brazil, Paes said: "We will be playing together in the Commonwealth Games and to prepare ourselves, we will be playing in a Tour event in Bangkok prior to the Games."

In an email sent to the All India Tennis Association (AITA) on August 18, top players Somdev Devvarman, Rohan Bopanna, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi had threatened to pull out of the Games due to non-payment of their outstanding bills.

Last week, the sports ministry cleared all the bills.
