New Delhi:
Some 400 passengers were stranded for nearly eight hours at the Delhi airport as their Air India flight to Chicago did not take off.
The flight was scheduled at around 2 am last night.
The passengers were told that the delay was because of technical reasons and the flight would take off in "10 minutes". It has been hours since then.
The airline said that they have been offered breakfast.
The aircraft, a Boeing 777, is still parked on the runway. This morning, the airline said the aircraft would be changed and it would take time to transfer baggage to the new aircraft after fresh security checks.
In images posted from the aircraft, the passengers are seen standing in the aisle, either on the phone or looking restless. Some are seen taking their cabin baggage to leave the aircraft.
