New Delhi: A hide-and-seek game turned fatal for a 10-year-old boy here when his friend, also a minor, got hold of a country-made firearm and allegedly opened fire at him, police said on Monday.
The incident took place in Khayala area on Saturday night and the deceased has been identified as Chandan, a Class VI student of a government school.
He was playing hide-and-seek with his friend, who had come here very recently. Both the boys were neighbours and were close friends.
"They were playing hide-and-seek. The deceased was playing the role of a thief while the other was the police. He got hold of a country-made firearm which was kept in his house by his father Ramachandran's friend Mukesh," a senior police official said.
During the game, the boy allegedly got hold of the weapon and opened fire in which the other boy got injured and died, he said, adding both Ramachandran and Mukesh have been arrested.
