New Delhi:
A 12-year-old boy has been shot in the head at his home in East Delhi. His condition is said to be critical but stable and he is undergoing a surgery in hospital.
The child, Priyanshu, was at home in Bholenath Nagar with his mother and siblings when two men, carrying a country-made pistol and a knife, broke in around noon. Eyewitnesses, mainly neighbours, offer conflicting reports of whether the shooters arrived on motorcycles.
The attackers wanted to rob the home. When the family members protested, the robbers opened fire and a bullet hit Priyanshu in the head. The robbers fled after that.
Priyanshu's father, a copper trader, was not at home at the time of the incident.
