15 child labourers rescued in Delhi
New Delhi: Fifteen minors who were being taken to Ludhiana in Punjab as child labourers were rescued on Thursday from Old Delhi Railway Station and the five accused, including one from Nepal, were arrested, police said.

The accused were arrested in the morning while they, along with the children, were waiting at the station for a train to Ludhiana, an official said. Those arrested comprised of four people from West Bengal and one from Nepal.

Six child labourers were also rescued last night from Malviya Nagar in South Delhi - four from placement agencies and two as domestic help.

Police say as per their information these children are minors. They will be produced in front of the Child Welfare Agency.

Many of these children have been brought to Delhi from Jharkhand and West Bengal. Mostly girls, they had been brought to Delhi to work as domestic help.
