New Delhi: A 15-year-old girl has died in New Delhi after she shot herself with her father's gun.
Ayushi Singh, a student of Class IX in Kendriya Vidyalaya, was found dead at her home in Rohini Sector-2 when her parents and younger brother returned home.
The gun she used was licensed to her father Yogesh Kumar, a property dealer. It's not clear if she died in an accident while handling the gun.
"When her parents and younger brother came back she did not respond to their calls. So they broke open the door and found Aayushi lying in a pool of blood," a senior police official said.
The girl was rushed to Ambedkar Hospital where she was declared brought dead.
No suicide note was recovered, the official said, adding that they were investigating why the girl took the extreme step.
