New Delhi:
A teenage girl was allegedly gangraped in a moving car by four men who abducted her after she protested against lewd remarks being passed at her.
The incident took place in Sultanpuri in north-west Delhi at around 10 pm last night, a senior police official said.
Three of the four men who allegedly abducted and raped the 18-year-old have been arrested. The fourth accused is a 15-year-old.
They were reportedly drunk and made lewd comments about the alleged victim who was waiting at a bus stop.
The girl protested which resulted in an argument; the men then forced her into the car after which the two of them allegedly raped her.
A passer-by who saw the girl being abducted made a call to the police.
"PCR received a call at 10:24 pm, we found the victim in the car with the two accused in Mangolpuri. And hours after that we nabbed the other 2 accused," said Chayya Sharma, DCP Outer Delhi.
The owner of the car, Rama, has a criminal background.
"Rama is my neighbor, he had attacked me with a blade on December six," proclaimed the girl.
The Delhi police within hours of the gangrape arrested the four accused but the second gangrape in two weeks raises questions about the safety of women in Delhi.
