New Delhi: Two brothers have been arrested for allegedly attacking policemen who tried to stop them from creating nuisance after getting drunk in outer Delhi's north Rohini.

Two constables, both named Ashok, were on night patrol when they saw Lalit (29) and Sachin (23) drinking alcohol inside their car parked on the road and shouting near Sector 6 in Rohini around 1.45 am yesterday, said a senior police officer.

When the constables asked them to behave themselves, the two brothers got agitated and attacked them, said the officer, adding they even tore the uniforms of the two policemen.

One of the constables managed to make a call to the North Rohini police station after which extra force was sent and the brothers were arrested, police said.

A case has been registered against the two accused under Indian Penal Code sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), added the officer.

Lalit and Sachin work as property dealer and were too drunk to realise what they were doing, police said.
