New Delhi: Two major fire incidents were reported in the national capital on Monday but no casualty in either of them.
In the first incident, which took place around 11.20 AM, a major fire broke out at the branch of a bank situated on the first floor of the Ansal Towers in southeast Delhi's Nehru Place, following which eight fire tenders and a skylift were rushed to the spot, a senior Delhi Fire Department official said.
Hundreds of persons had already evacuated the building and no casualty was reported.
The fire fighters took more than an hour to douse the flames, the official said, adding, the fire is suspected to have been caused from a short-circuit and the server room of the bank suffered a major loss.
In the second incident, which took place around 3 pm, a major fire broke out at a coaching institute in west Delhi's Janakpuri area, following which as many as 11 fire tenders were rushed to the spot.
The building was evacuated by the time the fire fighters reached and no casualty was reported. The fire was doused by around 4.45 pm after which a cooling operation was launched, the official said.
No rescue operation had to be conducted in either of the two cases and both incidents are being probed by the police.
