New Delhi:

Two more persons were arrested today in connection with the road rage incident in which a 38-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by a group of men after his motorcycle grazed their car in central Delhi's Turkman Gate.

Those arrested have been identified as Atif Lala (26) and Shadab (24).

Shadab is the relative of Ameen Pehelwan, who is said to be the main accused in the case and is still on the run along with another accused.

Another person, identified as Waseem (24), was arrested yesterday by the police.

Meanwhile, a controversy erupted in the case this morning after a letter surfaced allegedly written by victim Shahnawaz's father.

The letter, which was addressed to Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi, had seven demands including a compensation of Rs 50 lakh for the family.

The letter also demanded sacking of SHO of Chandni Mahal, Amit Sharma, even though the case has been registered at the adjoining Daryaganj police station.

However, victim's father Salauddin denied having written any letter and claimed that some people were trying to use his son's death for political gains. "I am paralytic and not in the best of health to get into all this. We cannot put a price tag on our son's death. No one from our family has written the letter," he said.

He added that the letter was politically motivated as some local leaders are trying to fan the incident to drive their own hidden agendas. "We just want justice for our son and the arrest of all the five accused, nothing else," he added.
