2 More Held For Abducting Delhi Doctor, His Compounder

New Delhi: Two more persons have been arrested for abducting a doctor and his compounder from south east Delhi's Jaitpur area and demanding a ransom of Rs 25 crore, police said on Tuesday.

Last month, police had arrested seven people and during interrogation, they had told the police that there are more people who are involved.

The two accused, identified as Ram Prakash (47) and Amir Chand (56) were arrested from UP, said Romil Baaniya, DCP (Southeast).

On the basis of inputs, police conducted several raids at the locations disclosed by the accused persons in Etah and Hathrash in UP and nabbed Amir Chand and Ram Prakash, he said.

Amir Chand was arrested from Farukhabad on September 22 and Ram Prakash was arrested from Etah on October 2, he added.

40-year-old Vinod Kumar and his compounder Ajay (21) were rescued by a team of Delhi Police, including officials of the Special Cell from Etah in UP on September 18 after the police traced Kumar's cell phone, used by the abductors to make the ransom call, they said.

The duo was rescued from a forest area in Etah and raids were conducted to nab the culprits. Two of the accused -- Ram Besh and Chattar Pal were held from Farukhabad Road in Kayamganj in Uttar Pradesh.

Dr Kumar and Ajay were abducted while returning home to Faridabad from the clinic in Saurabh Vihar on Jaitpur on the night of September 12. A case of kidnapping was registered at Jaitpur police station on a complaint by the doctor's father.

The complainant had received a ransom call of Rs 25 crore and when he expressed his inability to pay the amount, the abductors brought it down to Rs 39 lakh.
