A 22-year-old domestic help hailing from Jharkhand was allegedly drugged and raped by her employer and his two friends here, police said on Wednesday.
The incident came to light on June 20, after the victim approached Rani Bagh police in west Delhi and filed a complaint.
Police have arrested Shiv Ram, her employer, and are looking for his two friends who are absconding.
Police officials said the victim had started working at Shiv Ram's house on June 2. She secured the job with the reference of Bamdev, a resident of Moti Nagar and known to one of her relatives.
The victim in her complaint told police that she had come to Delhi a couple of months ago and stayed at her relative's house in Moti Nagar.
"She had come to Delhi in search of a job. Her relative asked Bamdev to help her get a job. And on his reference the girl got a job at Shiv Ram's house," said a senior police officer.
Last week, Shiv Ram had invited two of his friends for a late night party at his house. They consumed liquor and gave the victim a glass of soft drink laced with sedative.
"After consuming the soft drink she lost her consciousness. The next morning she regained consciousness and realised that she had been sexually assaulted," said the officer.
She was sent for medical examination that confirmed rape.
A case has been registered and Shiv Ram has been arrested. Police are currently looking for the other two accused.
