New Delhi: A 23-year-old MBBS student of Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a fan inside her hostel room, police said.
The body of Deep Jyoti was found by one of her college mates when she came to call her for lunch around 1.30 pm today.
The second-year student was living in a single room at first floor of the hostel on college campus in central Delhi.
Police said no suicide note was found. They were investigating the reason behind the extreme step. Her parents live in Sultanpuri area in north Delhi, and have been informed.
"The family members told us that she was depressed but the reason was not certain," said a police officer.
