New Delhi: A 41-year-old Delhi Police constable allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at the disaster management control office in North-West Delhi's Prashant Vihar area, police said today.

Vinod, a 1998 batch constable, was deputed at the disaster management control office and lived in a room of the office building where he ended his life.

His colleagues found him hanging when he did not come out of his room.

"Vinod, posted with North-West district police, was presently serving at the disaster management office. His body was found at around 8 AM," Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer) Vikramjeet Singh said.

No suicide note has been found. Police said that prima facie, Vinod, who hailed from Ghaziabad, was having some family-related issues.

Last night, he went outside his room to attend a phone call and returned back around 3.30 am.

Vinod's family told police that he was under depression after suffering a loss of around Rs three lakh in selling a flat which he had bought for Rs 20 lakh.
