44.7 Degrees Celsius in Delhi, Highest in Five Years

New Delhi: Delhi reeled under the torrid sun today as mercury soared to a staggering 44.7 degrees Celsius, the highest that has been recorded in the national capital in five years.

The minimum temperature today remained at 27.7 degrees Celsius, a notch higher than the 26 degrees Celsius yesterday.

Humidity at 8.30 in the morning was 40 per cent.

There has been no respite from the hot and sunny weather in Delhi in the last few days.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature settled three notches above the season's average at 43.4 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled two notches below the season's average at 26 degrees Celsius.
