600 School Students To Perform Dance On Republic Day
155 boys and girls of South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur will take part in the dance programme.
New Delhi: About 600 boys and girls are set to entrall people with their dance performances during this year's Republic Day celebrations.

The performances include three items from Directorate of Education, Delhi government and one from South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur.

160 students of Shiksha Bharti Public School, Dwarka, are presenting a colourful dance of 'Dharti Dhora Ree' in which there is a description of uniqueness of Rajasthan and the spirit of bravery.

Another dance that will be performed is the famous 'Dalkhai' of Sambalpur and Baragarh districts of western Odisha.

Dalkhai folk dance is mostly performed by tribal young girls and boys of these districts. The word Dalkhai is addressed to the Goddess 'Dalkhai' and through this dance young girls pray to the goddess for a suitable and handsome match for themselves.

This dance depicts the culture and tradition of tribal girls. 140 girls of combined schools - Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya No 1 and 3 and Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya, Gandhi Nagar, Delhi - will present this dance on Rajpath.

The Songi Mukhawate dance of Maharastra, an integral part of the worship of Devi at the time of Chaitra Purnima, will also be done this Republic Day.

This festival is celebrated after Holi. This dance is performed holding sticks in their hands. The message of 'victory of good over evil' is given through this dance.

155 boys and girls of South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur will take part in the dance programme.

Meanwhile, 150 boys and girls of Army Public School, Sadar Bazar, Delhi Cantt, will present the everlasting sparkle of the national river Ganga through their depiction 'Nirmal Ganga'.
