With the arrest of seven persons including two goldsmiths, Delhi Police today claimed to have solved two sensational incidents of robbery and murder in Central Delhi's Karol Bagh which had created panic among the jewelers in the area.
The accused identified as Gopal Krishna alias Kallu, Bablu Mathur, Ankit Aggarwal, Ajay Jha, Chandan Kumar, Bacchu Bera and Babu Bilel were arrested gradually in the last couple of days as police went on to piece together the mysteries of two incident.
Approximately, 440 grams of gold and one robbed mobile phone have been recovered from their possession.
Recently on March 4, at 11.40 pm one Jayant Ghosh who work as a goldsmith reported to police that he, along with co-workers Subrota Ghosh, Milan Majhi and one Pradyut was present in the room, doing goldsmith work job, when suddenly at around 11.15 pm three men entered the room.
"One, who was tall among them, immediately shot at Milan Majhi with a pistol and asked the others to remain quiet. The other two men who were carrying knives tied them with rope and covered their mouth with a medical tape. They robbed approximately 700 grams gold, a mobile phone and a purse and fled away," said DCP (Central) Parmaditya.
Later Jayant Ghosh freed himself and informed the police about the incident.
In an earlier incident, on January 16 at about 1.45 am, four persons entered the house of a jewellery designer's house. One person was carrying knife in his hand and another one was carrying pistol.
They told them to remain quiet or face dire consequences. They tied him and his other workers with tape and rope and robbed around 1440 gms of gold jewellery/raw gold and fled away.
