New Delhi:

Aaftab Poonawala, the main suspect in the gruesome murder of 27-year-old Shraddha Walkar, will undergo a polygraph test on Wednesday, sources in the Delhi police have said. Delhi Police had said earlier today that they approached Forensic Science Laboratory or FSL to conduct the polygraph test.

Police sources said that while the test will be conducted tomorrow it is uncertain if the process will be completed tomorrow itself. The questions for the test will also be prepared, the source added.

The narco analysis test which Aaftab Poonawala was supposed to undergo was pushed back yesterday. The Forensic Science Laboratory had said that a polygraphic test would be conducted on Aaftab before the narco test for which his consent is needed.

"The polygraphic test will conducted if the consent is received. It will be followed by medical tests and after these only the narco will be performed ... Within 10 days, narco will be done," he added.said Punit Puri, an assistant director at the FSL.

Police had earlier said Aaftab Poonawala, who confessed to killing his live-in partner and chopping her body into 35 pieces, was giving misleading answers to questions.

He admitted in a Delhi court today that he killed her "in the heat of the moment", however his lawyer told NDTV that Aaftab has not confessed to the murder in court. Aaftab's court-appointed lawyer said that he was cooperating with the police and that he is not misleading them or lying to them.
